The Dean of Students Office at the University of Arizona is pleased to present the Constitutional Issues in Higher Education Symposium.
The Constitutional Issues in Higher Education (CIHE) Symposium is dedicated to examining constitutional concerns and influences that intersect with colleges and universities with a primary focus on the First Amendment. We hope you will consider joining us this summer as we explore the theme: Abiding Freedoms. Institutions of higher education play a central role in educating, impacting, and developing not only enrolled students, but the communities in which these institutions are located. Contributing to the production of active, informed, and engaged members of society is a role that colleges and universities have undertaken since their inception, but requires continual recommitment and reconsideration.
The CIHE is an annual gathering that provides a unique experience for attendees from diverse and divergent professional backgrounds and perspectives. What all attendees share is an interest in, and commitment to, encouraging robust inquiry and critical discourse while promoting civility, respect, and access to educational opportunities.
We hope you will join us for a day of discussion, reflection, and learning!
